PAWS offers a low-cost spay and neuter program to help families with pets who would otherwise find the procedures to be cost prohibitive. The average cost to spay female dog of 25lbs or less in San Angelo is $195.00 for the surgery alone. Thanks to grant funding secured by Concho Valley PAWS and the participating clinics, low-income or fixed income households can have their pets fixed for less than 50% of the average costs.

Senior Vouchers are available to citizens over 65 years of age and are available for purchase at PAWS on the first Wednesday & Thursday of each month at 12:00pm. Simply come to our offices at the Judith & David Hirschfeld Adoption Center at 3134 N. US Hwy 67 (next door to the San Angelo Animal Shelter).  Cash or cards will be accepted. Seniors with limited mobility may call 325-656-7387 or email [email protected] to arrange for a senior voucher to be mailed. Limitations may apply.

Low Income Vouchers will be issued IN PERSON at our monthly Saturday Petco Adoption events. Please visit our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CVPAWS for this month’s event date. They will be AS SUPPLIES LASTS or until 3pm. Credit card/check is preferred to cash. There is a limit to how many vouchers we can sell every month due to funding, we would appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding with that limitation. Vouchers are limited to one per person per month. If vouchers are sold out you will have to wait until the following month to purchase one. At the time of purchase, the pet-owner will select which clinic he or she would like to have the surgery performed at. The number of vouchers are limited based on gender and weight. These limits are established by the veterinary clinics. Vouchers are valid until the 20th day of the following month. For example, a voucher purchased in February will expire on the 20th of March.

This program also allows for additional low-cost services performed at the time of surgery. Voucher fees and additional services and fees are listed below.

For example, a pet owner of a female dog under 25 lbs. may purchase a spay voucher, microchip, annual vaccines and rabies vaccines for a total cost of $98.00.
